About
I became a Republican after 9/11. At 18 years old the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, forever changed the way I viewed the world. For the first time, I understood how precious, rare, and vulnerable the liberty I had always taken for granted truly was. This event sparked in me a deeper appreciation for America and the freedoms we often overlook. Soon after, the writings of C.S. Lewis softened my heart and sharpened my mind, leading me to trust in the divine authority of the Holy Bible. Alone in my bedroom one fateful night, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, beginning a journey of faith that has shaped the person I am today.
Over the years, I’ve come to realize that authentic Conservatism, fixed Constitutionalism, and genuine Christianity are inseparable perspectives, all three of which culminate into the essential ideals from which the Republican Party was born. I had witnessed radical shifts in Washington state, where extreme left-wing ideologies began to dominate the sociopolitical landscape and culture. Initially, I couldn’t fathom how so many could embrace unpatriotic, anti-American views. But as I matured my wisdom and understanding grew, along with my contextual historical knowledge of the civilization I loved so much, and I began to grasp just how serious – and precedented – the “threat from within” was. I recalled the many video clips of young communist ideologues – future Democrat voters – burning American flags and spitting on American soldiers who had just returned from the horrors of the Vietnam War. It shocked me to see that same self-loathing, dishonorable, wicked, immaturity resurfacing in the political landscape following 9/11; the same people, the same tactics. The same Party… the same revolutionary, anti-American politics of the “progressive” Left.
For over two decades, I dedicated myself to advancing Conservatism whenever possible—often when others wouldn’t even engage. I made it my mission to debate and expose the flaws in liberal “progressive” ideology, which I have long viewed as a universal lie. It became not only a passion but a calling to advocate for wise and righteous principles that have stood the test of time.
Born in Auburn, Washington, my childhood was defined by frequent moves due to my parents’ careers. However, I spent the majority of my formative years between Washington state and Los Alamos, New Mexico—the birthplace of the atomic bomb. Growing up in such a historically significant place sparked my interest in both politics and history, shaping my worldview in profound ways.
In 2010, I met my wonderful wife, Misty, while working for Aramark Uniform Services. She handled all the paperwork for my route, and our professional relationship eventually turned into marriage! We married in 2013, and I became a proud stepfather to her two daughters, Ashley and Janelle. Together, we have always had a ton of fun and affection, as well as constant communication and a mutual love for music and humor.
Ashley has since become an elementary school teacher in the Everett, WA School District, where her dedication to sharpening young minds has always been highly focused, successful, and inspiring. Janelle, our youngest daughter, works as a nanny for our twin niece and nephew, a role that requires immense patience, care, and work-ethic—qualities she exemplifies every day. Misty and I are also blessed to be grandparents to two beautiful grandchildren, Carter and Mallory. They bring immeasurable joy and pride to our lives! They’re both just the cutest little humans we’ve ever seen.
In 2021, Misty and I made the decision to leave Bothell, Washington, an area we had called home for decades. The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 presidential election revealed that our home state had become increasingly hostile toward those who shared our conservative values and Christian faith. After several scouting trips, we found our new home in American Falls, Idaho—a place with a unique charm, quietness, and simplicity. With only one traffic light in Power County, this small town immediately felt like the fresh start we needed. We both took steps to embrace our new identity as Idahoans, even changing my phone number to symbolically wash away the remnants of Washington!
Once settled in, I became active in both my church and local politics. I serve as the head of security at my church and, after attending a Power County GOP Central Committee meeting, I was honored to be voted in as Vice Chairman while my wife, Misty, was chosen as State Committeewoman. Together, we worked to fill vacant positions within the committee, ensuring that all seats were occupied (for the first time in years). However, I soon recognized a troubling trend—my district’s elected representatives were often voting with the Democrats! Having seen this dynamic before in Washington state, I identified them as part of the RINO (Republican In Name Only) class. Historically, Idaho hasn’t had to worry about Democrats overtaking the state, but I know from experience that when Republicans forsake their Conservatism, in exchange for liberalism, they open the door for Democrats to seize control of the state’s politics, finances, and culture.
This sociopolitical trend in southeast Idaho is why I am running for the District 28 House seat. I am committed to upholding the true values of traditional Republicanism, adhering to the sound party-platform, and ensuring that our Gem State remains a beacon of liberty, prosperity, safety, and virtue.
